Why do I, as an independent creative resource, advertise?

For the most part, I advertise because other ad agencies and design firms don’t. I've always found that to be crazy — wait, you’re in the ad biz, but you don’t advertise? I believe in the power of advertising. I believe that advertising is the only medium I can control. It allows me to target specific, potential clients without getting into the “content generation” space. It adds credibility to my message of loving what I do and whom I do it for. And advertising amplifies everything else I do, from highlighting recent design & branding projects to letting others in my industry know that advertising (in any form) can still be memorable, simple, and funny.

If you enjoy my work, thank you. If you don’t, well, there are a lot of agencies out there that’ll help you achieve the anonymity your brand is struggling to own. You see, that’s a joke. Clients want their products to stand out. But unfortunately, what they have their agencies and design firms do to their branding, helps their products disappear on the shelves as well as from the minds of potential customers. Sadly, that’s nothing to laugh at.
