Paper Cut Model No.2

Paper Cut Model No.2

by Mike Pitzer, 1988

After breaking with my first long-term relationship, I started dating again. That’s when I did this series of paper cut models. My second drawing was of one of those women — mostly because of the dress she wore on our first date. It looked like crumpled paper and when she talked with her hands, it slowly slid down her shoulders and almost completely off. That aside, she had also the most amazing, thick wavy hair and ice-blue eyes. I was so infatuated.

Thanks to a great business connection with the local Canson Paper rep, I was able to score an assortment of 30″ x 40″ sample packs with 6 sheets each of their Mi-Teintes paper. My model paper-cut drawings were the result.
